Maurice has FIP

Well, da pathologist didn't find anything else.  No bacteria, no fungi, so we are pretty sure it is FIP.

Maurice went to da vet dis mornin to get his fluid drained.  We think it helped him feel a lil better.  He's still feelin bad, but he has been enjoyin a lot of pets.

These are some pics of Maurice and his momma.  You can see how dey luv each other.

Maurice likes my momma too.  Her and Maurice's momma are sisters, in case ya ain't figured it out.

Sometimes I think I should do this to her too, she does like to talk.

Da peeps are worried about keepin Maurice comfortable.  I'm not ready to lose my big black and white buddy.  I don't think I can handle bein da senior kitty of da house.  I's only 1 1/2, I ain't sposed to have to deal with dis responsibility.  And who are gonna show me and Crockett how to be elegant graceful kitties?  We may not get it right away, but Maurice is a real good example.

It's all sadness around here.

  1. Such a sad day for all of you. I'm so sorry Maurice was diagnosed with FIP. Hopefully you can keep him comfortable and share many more hugs for as long as possible. Travis and Crockett, don't worry, Maurice will teach you everything you need to know - if not in purrson, than from Spirit World. No matter what happens, you'll always be connected to each other.

  3. OMC! I’m sorry and I’m pouring on the healing purrz. He’s got the wet kind and that’s not good. Our neighbor Rusty lived with the other FIP into his teenage years. Should I mention how young your Mom is??

And I thought my momma were ancient, I mean, ya ever met a 27 year old cat? She moves pretty good for her age though.

    1. The problem is dat there is not really one good test for FIP - da only sure way to 100% know is to do an autopsy, which are kinda pointless by da time dat happens. We are waiting for one more test on his fluid.

Da only other thing the vet said it could be was some kind of nasty very aggressive cancer. Which are not really any better. And dey really thought it was FIP.
