Good(ish) Friday

Furst up, we wanna wish all our pals who celebrate a happy Good Friday and a happy Passover. We know it's tough to celebrate anything right now, but we hope you have a good holiday anyways. Hopefully wif somefin tasty to eat!  

But we also ha some GOOD news of our own.

Da three of us seem to be on the road to recovery. Angelique is only occasionally sneezing now. Bowie and I are both voluntarily eating (Bowie refused to eat for a few days and had to be spoon-fed). I think he's a lil scared of my momma or somefin - he'll eat when she watches him. Maybe he's seen her cram pills down the old dog's throat, MOL. 

But we're both still sneezing and our breathing is rattley.  

Some of pals have wondered if maybe we have da COVID-19. And we get why, it's nonstop on TV and da top of da people's minds. Da truth are - we don't know and we probably never will. As far as we know, none of our humans has had COVID. And it duzn't seem like very many cats get it (yeah, we've seen the news about the Belgian cat, the tigers, and the Chinese study). What we can't find is real information on what COVID symptoms would be in a cat - we don't have a dry cough like da humans are supposed to get (and the tigers apparently had). We are sneezy and obviously congested. Bowie and I both had a fever at one point, but after getting started on antibiotics, we haven't had that. And we haven't had any digestive issues (which apparently the Belgian cat did). We're all inside-only, so we don't know HOW we got sick unless it wuz something the humans or the dogs (none of who are sick) carried in. And since so many humans can't get coronavirus tests, we know we won't.   

So that's just speculation. The mommas (and Bowie's daddy) aren't treating us like we're contagious. We're all eating now and Bowie and I has been getting sauna treatments (sitting in a steamy bathroom) to help wif da congestion. And we're all getting our antibiotics and being watched nonstop. At least the mommas don't have other plans, MOL.

Wheezy Wednesday

Well, da nasty URI is still around. Me and Bowie is sneezy, wheezy, and not wanting to eat much. Which ya know, are NOT like me. I did eat some chikken livers, but I didn't really want my cat food. 

Angelique's still a lil sneezy, but she's doing better than me and Bowie and still eating good. 

Bowie won't touch his food. Ok, he'll touch it, but it won't eat it. Even though he had an appetite stimulant today. So he got spoon-fed by his momma and she's been able to get some food down him that way. And we have our own sauna set up in my momma's bathroom to steam us a couple times a day which helps wif da congestions. Hopefully this nasty URI will be gone soon! 

My 7th Birthday

Today's my 7th birthday! Which makes today my golden birthday since I'm 7 on da 7th. Seven might be a lucky number for a lotta people, but it are not dat lucky for me. I'm still sick, lotsa sneezies. I even had to take a pill today. YUCK! At least I got a lil bit of bacon. My appetite hasn't been great today, but I did like my bacon bits.

Angelique are definitely doing da best of us three. Hmmm, Patient Zero Angie.

My mini me Bowie are also still not doing well. We both got a steam room treatment today - who says only girls go to da spa on their birthdays?? It wuz really nice and it did seem to help us breathe better after.

But mostly today wuz lotsa napping. I did get 2 new bandanas and 3 new nip toys. I just kinda laid on em, but hopefully I'll be up to playing soon. Hopefully da rest of my seventh year are better dan dis! Momma says she's gonna try some chikken liver to tempt me into eating tonite.

Da Sneezies

Well pals, I are not feeling too hot. Which I guess are good since yesterday it seemed like I had a fever. I has been hiding some and sneezin pretty much nonstop. It are kinda like this.

Yeah, lotsa sneezin. I'm on antibiotics, so hopefully that'll help.

Bowie went back to da emergency vet last nite for a recheck (they're free and given the difficulties with getting in to see a vet because of the coronavirus shutdowns, it seemed like a smart thing). No fever, but he did get an appetite stimulant since he wuz still not eating good. He's still sneezy today, but not as bad as me. 

Angelique still has a few sneezies, but she wuz the furst one to have it, so she seems to be the best off right now. We thought she just mighta had a lil allergies, but it's pretty clear it wuz the upper respiratory infection that we've all come down wif. Fanks to all our pals for the POTP.

Finley is doing much better too. She got to come home today and the infection on her leg looks a lot better. Her hip is still in place, so that wuz good news.
