Angelique's Bad Day

Da fluffy princess girlcat of da house did NOT have a good day yesterday.  I guess it started off bad when she got stuffed in da crate and taken to da vet for her annual exam.  She sang da song of her people on da way there, but she ackshually behaved pretty good at da vet - no scratchin or bitin or nuffin.  She says dey stole her bloods and went off to hide for most of da day after dat.

Den around 2 in da morning da mommas heard dis horrible noise - it sounded like a major league cat fight.  And yeah, all da mommas wuz up, dey are nite owls.  Anyways, since me and Angie has been known to tussle some, my momma thought dat wuz what it wuz, only it sounded way worse.  So Crockett's momma went to find us and dere wuzn't a fight at all.  Angelique wuz thrashin herself around and making horrible noises all on her own - I wuzn't involved at all, and neither wuz Crockett.  Crockett's momma picked her up, she wuz afraid she wuz havin a seizure.  She stopped her thrashin and Angelique's momma found a slimy styrofoam packing peanut on the ground - we are thinkin Angie tried to eat it and wound up chokin.  Maybe Crockett's momma pickin her up acted kinda like a Heimlich and got it out.

Angelique has been ok today - eating and acting normal.  Poor little girl made a mess on herself last night, we think she wuz just terrified by what happened.  We aren't 100% shure da styrofoam wuz what caused Angie's episode, but it obviously had been slimed, so we are thinkin dat wuz it.  Da mommas try to keep da packin peanuts away from us anyways (dey are a chokin hazard), but you can bet dey are gonna be even more careful now.  So please, kitties, stay away from those things.  We know most of us luv playin in boxes, but have your mommas and daddies make shure dey is empty before ya play.  We is just all relieved Angie seems to be doin ok now - she's da baby of da family and we all luv her so much.  And losin Maurice wuz so tuff on her momma (and all da peeps), dey couldn't bear da thought of somefin happenin to her.

  5. Oh how scary that must have been for ALL of you! I bet the slimy peanut was the big clue that she'd tried to swallow it and couldn't. No wonder she was thrashing about AND I think it's good the Moms were awake and heard her AND picked her up - got that peanut OUT! It's tough keeping track of those styrafoam thingies because they come in so many boxes, but they are BAD for us. SO HAPPY ANGIE IS OK!

    Love, Sammy

  6. Oh poor Angelique, we are so glad that she is all right. Sounds like it was the peanut that was the culprit. So glad the Mom picked her up. Those are bad peanuts for sure.

Glad the outcome was good, we want to see lots more of your beloved Angelique! Stink eye and all, MOL!!

Minko has sat in box full of those peanuts, but he has nevfur tried to eat any, nor has Pipo or MJF. Maybe this peanut has some scent on it that temped her?
Meowmy almost always brings those peanuts out of the house as soon as she can get the box emptied.

Our angel Suki always tried to eat the unfurbro's tiniest Lego pieces...go figure...

    Take care!!

  13. that had to be super scary and thank goodness she is ok. Maybe it was also a reaction to the chemical in it if she was chewing it. I am so paranoid about leaving things out because Cody gets into EVERYTHING, we can all never be too careful. Please give her extra kisses from us catchatwithcarenandcody
