Furozen

So we continue to be snow-covered here in Texas. Our food orders might show up sometime this week and we can't get to any stores. But we think we have enuf food to last, plus grandma made us some chikky livers and chikky breast to help stretch things.

We still have power and water, but our city has been warning everyone that water supplies are very low and they are only supposed to be used for hand washing and drinking. Good thing we wash our own paws.

Momma saw kitty paw prints in the snow by our garage door. We hope that poor lil kitty found somewhere warm to go, too bad she didn't stick around because ya know our mommas would let her in. Well, ok, we'd probably have a new sibling. MOL!

Ok, maybe there aren't so many bon temps around here. More like froid temps. Luckily, we still have power and we got bacon dis morning.

And seafood are on da way tonite and my momma hasn't turned homicidal yet. Just almost. 

Code Red

Well, that's what the city are saying. I kinda think it should be called Code White for all da snow. We are in a Code Red situation and multiple power plants are shut down becuz of the cold. Lots of people around here are without power and it are currently 11 with a "feels like" temp of -2. The wind chill tonight is supposed to get to around -15 or -20.  

 

There have been rolling blackouts, but some people are saying they are not "rolling" the power back on once it goes off. Luckily, we have had power the whole time - Bowie's momma thinks it is becuz we are very close to a fire station and they won't cut the power to fire stations. 

We're hoping the power stays on.

It wuz so cold that the pool wuz icing over even though it wuz running.  Bowie's momma had to break up the ice.

  

The mommas are gonna hafta sleep in shifts tonite becuz if the power goes off, they hafta go drain the pool equipment immediately, otherwise it can freeze and pipes can burst. So we're all hopin our power stays on and this awful weather goes away.

Appresheate da Moments Photo Challenge

Dis year, we is gonna be purrticipatin in da Appreciate da Moments Photo Challenge - on da furst Friday of each month, ya post a photo dat fits dat month's theme.  For January, da theme are "winter." And when it comes to winter, what I appresheates are da Christmas tree and da Christmas lights - so here I are posin in front of it.  

But today I wuz not dressed all Catmassy, da three of us wuz wearin our new rainbow bandanas dat my momma made us for Catmas - nuffin like some bright colors to brighten up a winter day!

And yeah, real mancats wear pink.  And rainbows.  At least real mancats who live wif my momma.

P.S. Da tree are still up and I are still appresheatin it by lyin under it as much as I can.

Snow??

Yup, we gots it.  And more has come down since my momma took dis picture.  It's been snowin since 9 AM and is still goin.  Snow Day Bacon?  No, we don't gots dat.  Which I think are just plain nutso.  Maybe not as nutso as Crockett's daddy tryin to go into work today, he was back home at bout 11.  

Momma said dat I wuz gonna get some sossidge tonite since she are makin pizza, so we has no room to complain.

Dat razzberry are what Crockett thinks of my momma and her lameo excooses.

I's waitin for dat sossidge, ya can tell how alert I are.

And pretty lil Angelique are takin a break from nurse duty.  Her momma are still kinda sick, she are not as bad as she wuz, but it must be some kinda nasty flu.  I asked if she wuz sick enuf to where she'd gimme her pizza tonite, but I don't think dat one are gonna work.

Snow Day Bacon!!!

It happened!  Snow Day Bacon!!!  I guess really it are more like Sleet and Ice Day Bacon.  But whatefurs.  Da roads wuz so icy dat da peeps couldn't go anywheres today, so Crockett's momma made a big brunch of pancakes and ya guessed it, BACON!  Well, for all da peeps but Angelique's momma, she are sick wif a cold or da flu or somefin.  It do not sound like fun.

But on to da important stuff, da bacon.  It wuz delishus.  Dere are somefin real speshul bout weekday bacon, probably dat it are a pretty un-yoo-shual thing.  We all got some bacon, yummmm.

Crockett wuz taste-testin da air while da bacon wuz cookin.

I tried to steal some butter too, but I got chased off da counter.  Da peeps are always ruinin my fun.
