It's Sunday selfie time! I are thinkin another road trip are in my future since I saw momma packing up clothes again. Just as long as she remembers to pack me some nip toys - a boy needs nip wif her driving, MOL. Just kidding. Well, kinda.

Flower Friday

Hey pals! Well, I wanted to give y'all an update on my health - seems that steroid shot really did da trick! I has not had any more tummy problems and I has been eating good. VERY good. So I are workin hard at gettin my booty back - I wanna be a thicc boy again, MOL.

Momma says da way I are eatin dat I will get there in no time.

Hi y'all! Well, I had a pretty good day - dere wuz chikken livers involved! YUM! Dis week, da theme of da Mewsic Monday blog hop are vacayshun songs, so I are wearing my tiki bandana - I'm ready for a vacation too!  

Ok, this might be more appropriate for ME next Monday . . . 

I think momma wishes she wuz going somewhere tropical.

She wouldn't pass up a trip to da mountains either though.

But I are pretty shure she are gonna be visiting here tonite.

Ok, it are an obvious choice, but yeah, a vacation are what momma wants.

Sunday Selfie

 

Well, it's Sunday so it are selfie time. I had a pretty good day - momma started her cat painting and I wuz there to provide inspurrayshun. And my appetite are really back in full force - I has been meowing nonstop for MORE MORE MORE. Momma says I don't gotta try to gain back all da weight I lost in one night, well, she don't know dat how determined I are to get my booty back. MOL MOL.

Happy Caturday! It wuz a pretty good Caturday for me - I am still doing good healthwise and I got a bacon treat this morning! And da sun wuz out so I got a nice nap in a sunspot dis afternoon! 

Okay, dis cat maybe looks a lil more spring-like, but momma wuz into flower crowns dis week. She are thinking of maybe turning it into a painting. Well, ok, as long as it features a buff tabby.

Flower Friday

 

So has ya ever had a dog try to steal your thunder? I had that happen last night (and this morning). Ya know how I has been da one who has been causin momma worry and costin da bank account in vet bills? Well, maybe I shouldn't have talked up my new vet so much, cuz Kinley decided to horn in on my action. Long story short - she couldn't/wouldn't walk/eat/drink last night or this morning, so momma took her to the vet and it turned out she had a bad case of gas and are better now. Ya can read more on her blog if ya want to.

All I gotta say is - intestinal issues? How unoriginal! She are a total copydog. And really, I did it bigger, better, and MUCH stinkier. Ok ok, I are actually glad she are better and I wuz upset when she wuz obviously in pain. I actually like her, even if she does copy me. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

Ok, it are not really hot in da apartment since luckily we have A/C (and ERCOT hasn't decided to turn off our power so far), but it wuz like 107 outside. As Paris Hilton would say, that's hot.

Anyways, I are mostly doing ok. I did have a lil biley barf dis evening, but for da most part, I has been doing a lot better since getting da steroid shot - eating better and no nasty poops.

 So I guess I are feeling hot hot hot too. MOL.

It's Kinley's Gotcha Day today. And I know I like to complain about her, but most the time, I'm glad she's here. MOL MOL.

Ok, so momma had to share dis pic from today becuz it were too funny! I are doing ok today - I has been eating some wif no ill effects and I even had some lil bits of bacon (last week I felt so bad I didn't even want any). And now I'm headin off for a nice nap on da ottoman. Oh, here's da momma's Caturday Art.

Internashinul Cat of Misteree

 

So yeah, dat are me, da Internashinul Cat of Misteree. Ok, maybe not internashinul. Or even nashinul since I has not been outta Texas (YET). But I are a Cat of Misteree™. As in whatefur are going on wif me - it are a Misteree. Yesterday momma waited for my test results. And da vet called around 5:30 to say dat da results wuz gonna be delayed since there had been an outage at da lab. Thanks again ERCOT. 

Anyways, yesterday I wuz doing pretty good - eating and not throwing up and not having any litterbox problems. But den around 5 in da morning, I let out a loud MEOW and beat a hasty retreat to da Plastic Throne, and well, Montezuma had his revenge as ya will. A guy just can't catch a break.

Da vet called today - and well, da results are a bit confusing. My fecal sample wuz clear - no parasites here. Which momma and da vet both kinda figgered, but it are important to check. My pees were "crystal-clean" - always a good thing when ya has had urinary blockages before. And my bloods are PAWSOME. Speshully for a nine year old. Kidney, liver, you name it, everything wuz normal. So da chances of it being some kinda metabolic disease causing my problems (kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, etc.) are pretty much nil. Except for my eosinophils - which were high. Which could just mean dat I have inflammayshun in my gut - which, well, DUH. I coulda told ya that. 

So what are the vet (and da momma thinkin)? Maybe some kinda IBD flair-up or potentially a food sensitivity. So momma are keeping a food diary for me and I went back to da vet for a corticosteroid injeckshun to try to tamp down da inflammayshun in my gut. I are still not eating today, but momma are hopin dat'll change once da steroid starts kickin in. And hopefully Montezuma won't exact any more revenge, if ya know what I mean.

Vet Visit

Well, today I went to da vet. It wuzn't too bad - da vet Dr. Caleb and da vet tech Brooke seemed pretty nice. Well, for vets anyways, MOL. I wuz my normal well-behaved self - I never give da vets any attitude. My heart rate and blood pressure were a bit high, but that wuz probably da stress. Momma brought in a sample of my nasty bloody diarrhea and dey are gonna run some tests on it. Dey also stole some of my bloods and my pee (which wuz highly concentrated and maybe had a lil blood in it) for tests. Da results are being sent off since they are a lil more accurate than running them in-house and dey are supposed to be back tomorrow (or Friday at da absolute latest). Dey also weighed me - I am down to 10.5 pounds. I wuz 13.2 in March and 14.8 at my highest, so I has lost a LOT of weight very quickly. Da vet felt my tummy and didn't feel any tumors, but that doesn't rule out da dreaded C-word either.

We are gonna have to wait until then to start figguring out what might be wrong. Da vet thought da parasites were unlikely since I are an inside-only guy and that it probably wuzn't a food insensitivity since I eat a high-quality wet food and mix up proteins. Da numbers will tell us more and maybe help da vet rule out some things. But I might need some more diagnostics like an ultrasound - kinda depends on what da tests say and if I respond well to whatever treatments they are gonna try (like steroids to help wif inflammayshun). So momma drove me home and we just hung out this afternoon which wuz nice. We're hoping we can get this figgered out (and hopefully resolved) soon.  

Feeling Bad

 

Well, momma thought da probiotic wuz working. It had been almost a week since I had had any tummy problems. I still wuzn't really eatin like I should - I wuz gettin a dose of appetite stimulant to get me to eat. But she THOUGHT I wuz doing better. 

But no. When she came home from walkin da dog dis morning, da smell emanating from da litter box gave me away. Yeah, da liquid nasties are back. And I threw up a lil too. And da second diarrhea tonite wuz even worse - it wuz bloody and mucousy. So now I has a vet appointment tomorrow at Hub City Vet wif Dr. Caleb. We has never been there before, but it are rated as da best vet in town, so we are hoping they can help. I just wish I could feel better.

It's Sunday so it are selfie time. I has been eating pretty good today, probably cuz of da appetite stimulant. Momma is hoping that after a few days on it that I will get used to eating again and stop being so difficult. If not, I are definitely going to da V-E-T (and it will mean a new one since we does not have one here in Lubbock yet). And we does want to thank everyone for all da suggestions, POTP, pawryers, and purrs. It are very appreciated.

Well, da probiotic are still helping in da litter box department, but I has been refusing to eat AGAIN. I ate some breakfast, but won't touch my food even though I keep meowin at momma and actin like I want food. So I got another appetite stimulant tonite - she are frustrated becuz some days (like yesterday) I seem fine, and then I'm not. She's hoping I'll get over his before my appetite stimulant runs out.

Flower Friday

Well, furst I'll give ya an update on me - I am eating better today. Momma thinks da appetite stimulant helped. I'm still getting my probiotic too, so everything is ok on that end (MOL). Momma will probably keep me on da appetite stimulant for a few more doses so that my tummy can adjust back to "normal." She's hoping this is da end of my problems. ME too!
