Thank you very much for all of your kind words about our Crockett.
We miss him so much. Angelique has been such a sweetheart (I know, I kinda can't believe I am writing this, MOL), she has been trying to make sure all of da humans are ok. They aren't. Crockett's momma blames herself (she knows she shouldn't and everyone has been telling her she shouldn't). Crockett's daddy is so sad. And Angelique's momma and my momma are heartbroken. So Angelique has a lot of work to do.
I have been acting very traumatized - da mommas think I saw Crockett die. We were always together and loved to get into mischief together, so I may have been trying to climb the ladder with him. We did like to climb together. But I has been trembling some and have been not eating well (and you know me, I like to eat a LOT). But grandma suggested some bacon tucked into my food and that has helped me eat a lil.
I just miss my best friend. We all do.

This Saturday, May 18, woulda been Crockett's 5th Gotcha Day. But our sweet lil guy never got to see it. So we're asking all our pals to wear Crockett's signature color - ORANGE on May 18. ReplyDeleteWe was thinking that was the reason Travis is taking it so hard. He saw and heard everything. It's no one's fault. Who knew? We hate to wear orange during baseball season cos it's the color of the hated crosstown rival Mets, but we'll see what we have just for Crockett. Give Travis lots of hugs and love. Angie too. Oh yeah and those dogs.

ReplyDeleteThere just aren't words to express how very sorry I am. It will take some time to come to terms with Crockett's untimely passing. I wish there was a magic potion that I could send to make it better but all I have to offer is love and prayers.
ReplyDeleteTravis, Cooper Murphy is already wearing his orange, and Mom says she'll definitely where orange on Saturday. Mau and Cooper have a Cat Scout event, so Mau will wear some virtual orange clothing. We will honor Crockett on the Sunday Selfie hop. This has hit so many of us very hard. Crockett was beloved and will be missed by all his blogging friends. And we know how sad you are. Giulietta still hasn't recovered from losing her sisfur Fiona. Momma had a pup drown when she was a puppy, and her other dog that saw it happened was really traumatized for a while too. Make sure you get lots of cuddles and lovings, it will help!
ReplyDeleteMy friends, there are no words for how sorry I am that this tragic thing happened. But please try to accept that it was no one's fault, just one of life's inexplicable events. No one there is to blame, I promise you.

Travis we know even if you two were playing it was an accident and there is no rhyme or reason why or when they do. Poor Momma must be so sad and that is the natural thing to think how we should have done this or that but it is not true. The reality is we have the gift given to us and we never know how long we have it or what form it may take. That dear Crockett had a loving home is a miracle and he enjoyed that miracle every day he was with you. We will be proud to join in his blog hop and will wear orange for our dear friend.

ReplyDeleteI'm so, so sorry about Crockett's passing. A kitty passing unexpectedly is very hard to cope with. I hope that Crockett's mommy will eventually see that she is not at fault. I understand how it is, I blamed myself for my Cinco's passing for a long time too (he suddenly passed as well). Please pass our love and sympathies along.
ReplyDeleteOh no... that is such sad news that Crockett's life ended so early! I know you all are in shock, but tell your momma not to blame herself. We all know that she luved Crockett so-o very much. Mom can empathize, 'cause she had do say goodbye to the white kitty she had before me that went OTRB suddenly when he was only 5 years old. That was 9 years ago and momma still thinks of him every day. Sending hugs and purrs.
